I was born in New York City, read my first book at the age of three, and progressed quickly from the life lessons of LITTLE TOOT to the otherworldly epics of Brian Jacques, Terry Brooks and Stephen King, I soon began to pen short stories that, unsurprisingly, read like ‘D’ grade knockoffs of Brian Jacques, Terry Brooks and Stephen King. At least I aimed high.

Q: How long did it take you to write THE MARK?
A: Just about nine months in total. Six for the first draft, then another 3 to edit the book.
Q: How did you decide on the names for the characters?
A: This is a question I’m asked surprisingly often, since the answer is “I made them all up.” With one notable exception. Choosing Henry’s name was very deliberate. I wanted my protagonist, a younger man, to have a name not possessed by many young men to illustrate the tension between his generation and that of Jack
O’Donnell. I’ve never met anyone under the age of forty named Henry; it just felt like the perfect name.
